This is the - great exhibition - a list of exhibitions, competitions, installations, publications - anything in the public domain.

"Memoirs are written for many reasons:
 Stars to celebrate a glittering career;
 Politicians to secure their place in history
 (and boost their pension funds).
 The rest of us are just trying to make sense of our own lives."

'Len Breen - Political Posters', Institute of Contemporary Art, London.

Jean-Michel Folon once pulled out of an exhibition of his work at London's prestigeous Institute of Contemporary Arts. The exhibition space at the ICA that he was allocated was the back (though not unimportant for some) 'staircase gallery'. I was invited by the ICA Director, Linda Lloyd-Jones, to exhibit my posters there instead of him. That was in April 1976.

While I was delighted to show there, or anywhere, I am sure that he, a significant and famous Belgian artist, could only be offended at the measly location. Seems likely. Years later a major exhibition of his work was held at the ICA.

Typically for my luck, the ICA had a change of leadership around this time and the entire exhibition programme, which featured me don't forget, was abandoned. I never again got a look in! But I refuse to be silenced on the matter - the 'Exhibition That Never Happened'.
